The route

Following the calm flow of the Muson dei Sassi river, the Sentiero degli Ezzelini winds its way for over sixty kilometers. It’s a gentle path, ideal for walking or cycling, that connects art cities, historic villages, and riverside landscapes—and above all, it invites you to slow down. In the Treviso area, the journey begins in Castelfranco Veneto, a walled city and birthplace of the painter Giorgione. The Academic Theater, the Giorgione Museum, and Villa Bolasco Park speak of a cultural legacy still very much alive. From there, the route continues to Castello di Godego, set in an agricultural landscape, and then to Riese Pio X, birthplace of Pope Sarto. In Godego, you’ll find the San Pietro Shrine, while Riese hosts a museum that retraces the life of Pope Pius X. The next stop is Fonte, which gently leads into the hilly atmosphere of Asolo, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Its cobbled streets, fortress, and castle offer timeless views. The path ends in Pieve del Grappa, home to the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Covolo, overlooking a breathtaking landscape. We’re in the heart of the Monte Grappa UNESCO MAB Biosphere Reserve, recognized in 2021. Not far away, the World War I Museum preserves the memory of events that shaped this territory. The trail also tells the story of the present: creative workshops, restoration studios, and family-run businesses that blend tradition with innovation.
