The route

The Treviso-Ostiglia is one of Veneto’s major cycle tourism routes—an uninterrupted green corridor stretching for about 85 kilometers from the city of Treviso to Cologna Veneta in the province of Verona. It crosses villages, rural towns, and nature reserves, following the path of an old railway line now beautifully restored. Traveling along this historic track, visitors enter the heart of the Marca Trevigiana, surrounded by unexpected landscapes, authentic villages, creative enterprises, and places steeped in history. The journey begins in Treviso, a city of water and light, often called “the little Venice of the mainland.” Its historic center unfolds among canals, water mills, arcades, and bridges. The beating heart is Piazza dei Signori, dominated by the Palazzo del Trecento. From here, narrow alleys lead to the Loggia dei Cavalieri, the Cathedral with its Titian altarpiece, and the Santa Caterina and Luigi Bailo museums. Treviso’s 16th-century walls, monumental gates, and waterways tell the story of a refined and industrious city. Continuing along the cycling path, you’ll ride beside the River Sile, the longest resurgence river in Europe, protected by the Sile Regional Nature Park. Here lies the stunning Cervara Oasis, home to wetland plants, freshwater birds, reptiles, and a restored, functioning 14th-century watermill. The route continues to Badoere di Morgano, famous for “La Rotonda”, a majestic arched portico that is part of the Villa Badoer complex—a remarkable example of Veneto’s villa architecture.
